NIH Women's Health Initiative
The NIH Women’s Health Initiative was a long-term national health study that ultimately changed the way health care providers treat and prevent some of the major diseases and health conditions that affect postmenopausal women. When NIH experienced difficulty recruiting older women of color for this groundbreaking study, I developed communications strategies for reaching and recruiting their target audience. I also wrote and edited a series of recruitment and promotional materials targeted to older women of color and their families, and presented an in-service workshop for study recruiters.
