International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA)

The International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA) is a professional education association that represents scholars, educators, and students in the textile, apparel, and merchandising disciplines in higher education. An ITAA committee comprised of 10 scholars from the US and abroad drafted documents to establish the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Textiles and Apparel (ACPTA). When the ITAA committee recognized that the final drafts reflected each contributing author’s perspective and writing style, the committee hired me to provide editorial services. Throughout this project, I worked with the project manager and authors in various locations and in different time zones to clarify issues related to purpose, content, and organization of the documents. To ensure the documents were written in a consistent voice, tone, and style, I delivered substantive copyediting, copywriting, document organization and formatting, queries to authors, and proofreading services.
